Laughter
The most important thing I believe in as a future teacher is having fun at school! So many children hate going to school these days. And I think that the main reason for this is that their teacher hates their job. I love dealing with children and having such a strong impact on them and I believe the main way to keep this feeling is to have fun at what I'm doing. I think teachers should be very interactive with their students and always having new ideas. If the children come in the classroom everyday and do the same thing over and over and over again, they are going to want to stay away from the school. On the other hand, if students are so excited about the next day and the fun project they are going to be doing, they will want to go to school. Because school is imperative for all children, teachers need to have fun with the students! Be creative and love your job. I know I will!
Be an example
I strongly believe that as teachers we have to set good examples for our students. Most of the time students look up to their teacher as a major influence in their life. The children may not have any role models in their life except for a teacher to look up to. This being said, I think it is very important as a future educator to lead by example. When we are telling the students in our class to have manners we should also have manners. When we are telling our students to be quiet, we must also be aware that we do not need to yell. Everything that we so, is being watched very closely by the little eyes that are sitting in the desks in the classroom. When we slip up and make a mistake, it could be a huge deal to one child. When I become a teacher, I am going to "practice what I preach" and be the person that I want my class to grow up and be one day. I want them to look back and think "Man, I want to be just like her" just like I do now. My second grade teacher was such an inspiration to me and she is the reason I would love to teach and I hope someday I'll have that impact on my students.

Blogs
Since I have been in EDM310 this semester, I have seen the benefits of using technology in the classroom. The main thing that I would like to incorporate in my class is the use of blogs and blogging. I will like my students to have a blog and be able to check it regularly. One thing that I am very excited about is for the students to be able to talk to other students around the world. They will be able to see all the different ways that children are learning across the world. This will be one of my favorite projects to have the children doing throughout their year in my classroom. Not only will they get to see what other children are learning, but they will also be getting familiar with technology. Introducing students to technology is important to do at a young age. I can only hope to be as good of an educator as the teachers I had when I was a young girl.
Motivating and Positivity
I strongly believe in motivating my students to do their best in whatever they are working on. If a student feels that their teacher believes in them, they are more likely to succeed. When I was growing up, I had teachers that strongly encouraged me to do my best. They were the biggest influences in my life at the time and when they told me I could do something, I believed them and in myself. I am going to motivate my students everyday and in everything they do. I am also a strong believer on staying positive. I know that if my students see me as being so positive about everything, it will rub off on them. I am very excited about being such an influence on students that I am going to do everything in my power to show them that they can do and be whatever they would like and I am going to try to make that possible for each one of them.
Being artistic in the class
While attending the University of South Alabama I have had the opportunity of being in Dr. Baggett's art for elementary teachers. She is such an inspiration to me and what I would love to bring into my classroom. She encourages all of her students to complete art projects and be artistic. I was very unsure about completing art because I have never been an artist but once I felt comfortable in her class (which didn't take long) I enjoyed every minute drawing, coloring and learning how to incorporate art into different subjects. When I become a teacher I am going to work very hard on encouraging my students to pursue their artistic side and complete many different art projects. Hopefully I will open minds to see that art is just a way of expressing oneself.
